Q. Does infoRouter have a user Forum?

A. Yes. All posts and topics are moderated and no post will automatically appear before it has been carefully examined by the forum administrator. SPAM will be deleted. InfoRouter Forum

Q. Does infoRouter use WebDAV data transfer protocol?

A. Users can access infoRouter documents and folders using InfoRouter WebDAV. New documents can be created or existing folders and documents can be accessed using this protocol. However, InfoRouter WebDAV enforces the same business rules, access restrictions and security settings.

Q. I have too many documents to scan. Can infoRouter automate the upload?

A. Yes. Our unique hot folder technology can run in the background watching for scanned documents, incoming faxes and/or electronically generated files and auto import them into infoRouter folders. Workflows can be auto assigned to fully automate the department's process flow. infoRouter supports KOFAX Ascent Capture release scripts and automatic conversion of TIFF images to PDF.

Q. Is infoRouter integrated with MS office Suite?

A. Yes. infoRouter supports MS office versions 2000 through 2007 for desktop applications such as MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power Point. We also support the storage and archival of all emails. Emails and attachments can directly be pushed into infoRouter with full indexing making their search management extremely easy. With our email scanner users can setup pop3 accounts, emails sent to these accounts will also be auto delivered into an infoRouter folder making the emails available to authorized individuals.

Q. Can infoRouter provide secure data transfer via secure HTTP (HTTPS) using SSL encryption technology?

A. Yes. You can access and transmit your documents safely and securely by implementing HTTPS security.

Q. Can InfoRouter provide secure data transfer via Virtual Private Networking (VPN) encrypted transport technology?

A. Yes. Our software is a browser based and secure access is available through HTTPS.

Q. Is infoRouter capable of authenticating users via Microsoft Active Directory?

A. Yes. User accounts can be imported into InfoRouter directly from Windows NT/2000 or Active Directory. When a user attempts to log into InfoRouter, their credentials are authenticated directly from Windows.

Q. Can infoRouter provide Web-based access to file storage that can be accessed from any computer at any location – on or off campus – provided an Internet connection?

A. Yes. Unlike other solutions that require proprietary or 3rd party components, InfoRouter allows you to safely access and manage your documents from anywhere in the world with nothing more than a standard Web browser.

Q. Can infoRouter provide client software that can be used on University computers to provide seamless, native file access to content (i.e. a “mapped” or “shared” network drive) that mimics current student and faculty access to their storage content?

A. Yes. With infoRouter, all you need is a web browser on the client site to access your document from anywhere in the world.

Q. Can infoRouter be accessible by multiple computing platforms, including Windows, Mac and Linux?

A. Yes. infoRouter is accessible from any platform with a web browser.

Q. Can infoRouter provide a complete set of library services to content stored on the system, including (but not limited to) file check-in/check-out, version control, audit history, comments and subscriptions?

A. Yes. infoRouter has check-in/check-out, version control, audit history, comments and subscription features. When you subscribe to a document, infoRouter automatically starts tracking the changes to this document and alerts you by sending an email notification informing you of the changes.

Q. Can infoRouter provide temporary access to files that can be password protected and securely exchanged with users inside and outside of the University?

A. infoRouter works seamlessly with Microsoft Windows NT/2000 security for managing users and user groups. infoRouter also has a built-in security module to authenticate and manage outside users. Domain security can be implemented to create isolated work areas in which users can create, share, and manage documents without knowing about other domains.

Q. Can infoRouter allow administrators to create administrative, classroom and user directories – each with their own security?

A. Yes. infoRouter allows administrators to create customizable and personalizable portals. Their main purpose is to greet users and provide content that is specific to users and/or user groups, with different hierarchical levels of access control/security clearance.

You may use infoRouter portals to create specific web pages for the faculty, staff and students in various departments, with their own security.

You may create as many portals as you wish in infoRouter.

Q. Can infoRouter allow users to create personal and project workspaces without compromising overall system security?

A. All users must have a valid account in infoRouter before they can use it (except Anonymous users). infoRouter user accounts are created by the System Administrator and Domain Managers and are stored in infoRouter's own security database.

Your user account is what identifies you to both the system and to other users. Only users with valid infoRouter accounts can be granted permissions within the document and folder security framework.

Users with valid accounts (also called authenticated users) can perform tasks such as creating documents, editing existing documents and creating folders as defined by their security profiles.

Q. Can infoRouter provide an API (and licensing to use said API) for the creation of custom applications and interfaces to reflect the look and feel of the University’s academic environment and to integrate with the University’s authentification, course management, portal and other unspecified enterprise applications?

A. WEB-API services are included with infoRouter and do not require a separate licensing/purchase.

Q. Can infoRouter provide end-users with an indexed search capability for all stored content to which the user has permission to access?

A. All documents added into infoRouter are automatically indexed and available for full-text searching. This means that it is easier than ever to locate exactly the information you need.

Q. Can infoRouter provide users with the capability to use individual storage space as a publicly-accessible Web site?

A. infoRouter Web Portal Software is an integral part of the core infoRouter Enterprise Content and Document Management Software Platform. Our Portal Management System dramatically simplifies the creation and management of portals.

The focus of our software is on presenting documents and contents in an effective manner to individuals (faculty/staff and students), and user groups.

Our software promotes a high level of standardization and reuse of content and resources. Predesigned content in infoRouter can be easily presented (simple drag and drop) in the portal without any involvement from webmasters or IT staff. New or updated content in infoRouter is automatically reflected on to the portal, making it virtually maintenance free. Portal content can be edited from remote locations without the involvement of technical staff.

An unlimited number of web portals can be created to serve multiple audiences. infoRouter lets you create as many portals as you wish with no limitations whatsoever. Multi-language portals to serve overseas customers, and customer-specific portals are among the popular usage scenarios for infoRouter portals.

Q. Can infoRouter provide technical support and software maintenance services for purchased software, provided a current maintenance contract?

A. Ongoing support is covered under a Maintenance Agreement. Questions or issues resolved over our on-line Question & Answer Center are free. Our business hours are Monday – Friday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM EST. Our web is monitored constantly by our New York, Ankara offices.

Q. Can infoRouter provide the initial capability to service 12,000 unique users, plus scalability for additional users as required in the future?

A. Yes. infoRouter is fully scalable. The distributed architecture of infoRouter allows you to install the different components of infoRouter across multiple servers to achieve load balancing. You can use up to 100 servers to participate in managing your information with speed and confidence and unlimited users.
